Earlier this month, Telangana government brought some relief to the Telugu film and television industry by relaxing lockdown restrictions and allowing them to resume shooting from June 15.

Following this, many actors began shooting for television serials adhering to rules imposed by the state and the central government.

According to the latest reports, popular small-screen actress Navya Swamy has tested positive for coronavirus. Sources say that it was only during the shoot of her Telugu serial, Naa Peru Meenakshi, the actress underwent coronavirus test and the result turned out to be positive. She is currently in self-quarantine.

The actress, who has been part of many television soaps, including Vani Rani, Aranmanai Kili, Run and Aame Katha, is apparently asymptomatic and is confident of recovering soon. The makers of the serial and her co-stars are helping her out to cope with the situation.

Meanwhile, other artistes, who came in contact with Navya Swamy during the shoot, have been requested to isolate themselves.

Another television actor Boddu Prabhakar was recently tested positive and is currently under treatement.
