Delhi Police arrests three members of ‘Thak-Thak’ gang, recovers mobile phones, country-made pistol

The arrested gang members have been identified as Shakil, Aas Mohmad and Rizwan, all of whom are residents of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

Delhi Police has busted inter-state ‘Thak-Thak’ gang and arrested three of its members along with seven mobile phones and one country-made pistol.

The arrested gang members have been identified as Shakil, Aas Mohmad and Rizwan, all of whom are residents of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

On June 8, a commuter, Kailash, said he was travelling in his car in Delhi’s New Friends Colony area. When he reached Ashram Chowk, a person suddenly started knocking window glass of his car, Kailash lowered the car window after which the person who knocked started to argue saying his leg got injured by his car, whereas, his car had not even touched him.

In the meantime, another person came onto the other side of the car and joined the argument. They diverted his attention and stole his mobile phone which was kept on the adjacent seat in my car. On June 6, a similar incident had taken place.

According to police, the Thak-Thak gang increased their activities on the Mathura Road after the unlock phase.

On the intervening night of June 26 and 27, a police officer suspected one person who was seemed to be looking for his target for committing the crime. Seeing the officer, the man started running. After a long chase, he was finally apprehended. One country-made pistol along with a live cartridge was recovered from his possession. He was identified as Shakil.

On interrogation, other members of the gang were also nabbed by Delhi Police subsequently.
